PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Senior
Izzy Peterson of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's track and field team was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) North Region Track Athlete of the Year it was announced on Thursday.
Peterson was the 200-meter champion at the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships this past weekend, while also finishing third in the 60-meter dash. Her winning time of 23.78 in the 200 meters was the second-fastest in NCAA DIII history and broke the UW-Platteville school record. Peterson also holds the fourth-fastest time 60 meters time in NCAA DIII history of 7.46 which came at the WIAC Indoor Championships on February 27. The senior holds a third UW-Platteville record in the 400 meters with a time of 56.06 at the UW-Platteville Invite on February 14.
