DUBUQUE, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams traveled to Loras on Tuesday afternoon for a mid-week meet inside Rock Bowl Stadium in Dubuque, Iowa. The Pioneers came away with several strong early-season times and marks at the outdoor meet.
Men's Highlights
The Pioneers had the top three finishers in the 110m hurdles, led by sophomore
Callahan Wrasman's winning time of 15.85. Freshman
Slade Bohlman was second at 16.06, while freshman
Oliver Post was third at 16.31.
Senior
McKade Jelinek won the discus by throwing 51.02m on his fourth attempt. Junior
Colby Stotler threw a personal-best of 16.33m in the shot put to finish third overall in the event. That marks places him seventh on the Pioneers top 10 list.
Senior
Elijah Wade led a group of Pioneers in the 800m with his first-place time of 1:55.13. Junior
Andrew Zimmerman crossed the line second in 1:55.54, while senior
Joshua Stone was third at 1:57.37. Senior
Paul Treiber was fourth at 1:58.48.
Sophomore
Max Schneider claimed the top spot in the javelin with his best throw of 52.68m coming on his final attempt. In the pole vault, freshman
Owen Orioles finished first by reaching 4.80m.
Sophomore
Owen Wise was the runner-up in the 400m, posting a time of 51.96. Sophomore
Cody Nichols placed fourth in the same event by running a 52.44.
Senior
James Ketterer was the Pioneers' top finisher in the triple jump, placing second overall with his best leap result being 13.97m.
Senior
Alex Geissler ran a time of 57.93 in the 400m hurdles to finish second in the event. Freshman
Dave Vera took fourth with a time of 58.78.
In the high jump, freshmen Cooper Kneser and Logan Davis each reached 1.75m to place third and fourth in the event, respectively.
Junior
Spencer Thiry came in third in the 1500m run by running a 3:59.91 in the event.
Women's Highlights
Sophomore
Josephine Yurs won the 400m with a time of 1:02.36. Finishing right behind was freshman
Sarah Knaack, who placed second in 1:02.63.
Junior
Elianna Dalamangas placed first in the triple jump with a best leap of 11.23m on her final try. Dalamangas also won the 200m with a personal-best time of 25.54. Sophomore
Haley Stannard was the runner-up in the 200m at 26.18, also a PR time.
Junior
Hailey Campbell was the runner-up in the high jump by reaching a height of 1.63m.
Junior
Evelyn Troxel finished second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.42m. Sophomore
Kaitlyn Lisafeld (3.12m) and freshman
Skylar Stare (3.12m) came in fourth and fifth, respectively, in the same event.
In the 100m hurdles, junior
Danielle Mauhar and freshman
Layla Slife placed back-to-back in third and fourth, respectively. Mauhar posted a time of 16.16, while Slife came in at 16.18.
Senior
Samantha Klann finished third in the shot put with her best throw of 12.45m coming on her sixth and final attempt. In the same event, freshman
Paige Kurlinski took fourth with a toss of 12.38m. Klann later placed fourth in the discus with a toss of 40.19m.
Junior
Megan Hageman placed third in the 1500m run and ran a personal-best time of 4:48.78 in the process. Hageman recorded a second PR later in the day in the 800m with a time of 2:22.41. That was good for fifth in the event.
Senior
Shannon Wulf finished third in the long jump with a mark of 5.10m. Sophomore
Skyler McIlvried took fourth with her best jump being 5.09m.
