KANSASVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team competed at the Midwest Region Classic this Friday and Saturday, hosted by Benedictine College at Brighton Dale Links.
UW-Platteville sat 12
th of 39 teams after the first 18 holes. The Pioneers finished with a 36-hole total of 666 strokes after a round of 330 on Friday and another of 336 on Saturday. While the Pioneers completed both rounds of the event, weather canceled the second day of competition for many of the 39 competing teams.
Senior
Taylor Swalve led UW-Platteville with a two-round total of +15 over par. Swalve shot 78 on Friday, including back-to-back birdies on holes nine and 10. Swalve sat in 14
th place out of 227 golfers after Friday's 18-holes.
Also recording two birdies on Friday was sophomore Chloe Chappel who shot 80 on the first round and finished the weekend +23 after shooting 89 on Saturday.
Sophomore
Hannah Peterson finished +23 over par with rounds of 85 and 82. Junior
Danielle Bruecker finished +27 over par with a second round of 84, including a pair of birdies, shaving three strokes off the score from Friday.
Senior
Hannah Tysse finished the weekend with rounds of 95 and 102 while senior Slattery added scores of 109 and 99 while competing as an individual.
The Pioneers will return to action on Sunday, Sept. 28 when they compete at the UW-Whitewater Fall Invite, hosted at TPC Wisconsin in Madison.
