PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Senior
Kierney McDonald of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville volleyball team was named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III All-Region First Team it was announced on Thursday.
McDonald earns her second straight All-Region selection following a season that saw her pace the Pioneers in kills (3.27) and blocks (1.12) per set. The middle blocker collected her WIAC postseason honors for the fourth consecutive season and surpassed the 1,000 career kills mark late in the year. McDonald recorded a career-best .304 hitting percentage, which was tied for third-best in the WIAC. The Taylor Ridge, Illinois native put together several impressive performances throughout the season, including 17 kills and six total blocks on a .556 hitting mark in a sweep over No. 4 UW-Whitewater on October 15.
