ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Senior
Izzy Peterson broke another school record as the University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams competed at the Augustana Meet of Champions on Friday and Saturday in Rock Island, Illinois.
Men's Highlights
Senior
McKade Jelinek was the winner in the discus, throwing 50.82m on his fifth and final attempt. Senior
Beau Kopp took eighth in the same event at 45.85m. Jelinek also took fifth in the javelin with a personal-best of 47.95m. Sophomore
Max Schneider was the Pioneers' top finisher in the javelin with a best throw of 52.35m for third place.
In the shot put, junior
Colby Stotler placed second with a best throw of 15.89m. Junior
Cohen Pfohl came in fifth in the shot put with his best mark being 15.19m.
Senior
Joshua Stone was the runner-up in the 800m with a time of 1:57.76. Senior
Paul Treiber ran a 1:59.78 in the same event to place seventh overall.
Freshman
Owen Orioles collected a second-place finish in the pole vault by reaching 4.85m. Junior
Trevor Schulz was fifth in the same event at 4.55m.
Senior
Elijah Wade finished the 1500m run in 4:03.89 to finish second in the event.
To wrap up the day, the 4x400m relay team of
Ethan Schneider,
Cody Nichols,
Logan Pasakarnis, and
Gavin Pinnow finished second with a time of 3:26.91.
Sophomore
Kadyn Dixon set a new personal-best in the 200m with a time of 21.72, which was good for fourth. Freshmen
Mason Augustynowicz and
Noah Platten placed seventh and eighth in the same event with times of 21.83. All three of those times rank inside the Pioneers Top 10 List.
Dixon, Platten,
Caleb Kitelinger, and Augustynowicz took second in the 4x100m relay by running a time of 42.16.
Junior
Nolan Marx advanced to the finals in the 100m and placed fourth overall with a time of 10.80. In the 3000m steeplechase, senior
Justin Behnke collected a fifth-place finish at 9:43.77. Junior
Dylan Powell ran a PR time of 9:56.62 to finish eighth in the event.
In the hammer throw, sophomore
Nicholas Elliott reached a top mark of 51.42m on his second throw to finish sixth.
Sophomore
Callahan Wrasman tallied a sixth-place finish in the 110m hurdles after running 15.43. Freshman
Oliver Post placed seventh in the same event at 15.56. In the 400m hurdles, senior
Alex Geissler finished fourth at 59.00, while Post took fifth with a time of 59.19.
Women's Highlights
For the second consecutive week, senior
Izzy Peterson broke one of her own school records, this time in the 200m. She posted an event-winning time of 23.87, which currently ranks first in NCAA DIII.
Senior
Avery Brown set a PR in the 3000m steeplechase of 11:53.89 to finish fourth overall in the event. That time is good for fourth best on the Pioneers Top 10 list.
Junior
Elianna Dalamangas ran 12.44 in the prelims of the 100m to advance to the finals, where she took fourth with a time of 12.39.
The Pioneers 4x400m relay team of
Rylee Steffen,
Josephine Yurs,
Grace Carlson, and
Sarah Knaack placed fourth with a time of 4:15.74.
Junior
Laura Weaver threw a personal-best 47.45m in the hammer throw to finish fifth in the event. Senior
Samantha Klann also earned a top-eight finish with a mark of 45.08m for seventh, and later took fifth in the shot put at 12.85m. Freshman
Paige Kurlinski recorded the Pioneers' top mark in the shot put at 12.98, which was good for fourth.
Sophomore
Skyler McIlvried placed seventh in the long jump with a best mark of 5.12m. Junior
Evelyn Troxel took seventh in the pole vault by reaching 3.30m.
In the 800m, junior
Ava Garrard posted a time of 2:24.13 to take seventh. Junior
Megan Hageman finished seventh in the 1500m with a time of 4:58.36.
Junior
Grace Carlson advanced to the finals in the 100m hurdles and earned a seventh-place finish at 16.16.

With the WIAC Outdoor Championships coming up in two weeks, the Pioneers will send competitors to the Drake Relays and the Drake Alternative meet hosted by UW-Whitewater next weekend.
