MANKATO, Minn. – Senior
Izzy Peterson broke two more of her own school records on Saturday at the two-day Mark Schuck Open hosted by Minnesota State inside Myers Field House in Mankato, Minnesota.
Men's Highlights
In Friday's 3000m race, junior
Zachary Sporaa set a new PR and broke the meet record with a time of 8:18.76 to win the event. That time is also the third fastest in UW-Platteville program history. Senior
Caden Schneider was the runner-up in the event with a time of 8:24.10.
Also on Friday, the Pioneers' top 4000m DMR team of
Joshua Stone, Karson Marquardt,
Elijah Wade, and
Maxwell Voss placed third while running a time of 10:25.24. Freshman
Braedon Shaner tied for fifth in the pole vault premier section, reaching a mark of 4.64m.
On Saturday, junior
Nolan Marx set a new personal best in the 60m with his 6.90 second time in the finals. That time was good for fourth in the event. Marx later recorded a PR and matched the program record in the 200m with a third-place time of 22.23 seconds.
Junior
Andrew Zimmerman won the 800m run with a time of 1:57.42. Senior
Elijah Wade placed fourth in the same event in 1:59.73.
Junior
Maxwell Sporaa set a new PR in the 5000m, with his time of 15:18.53 good for fifth overall.
The 4x400m relay team of
Evan Graves,
Alex Geissler,
Owen Wise, and
James Ketterer wrapped up the meet with a fifth-place finish. The group ran a time of 3:23.05.
Women's Highlights
A week after breaking her own school records in the 60m and 200m, senior
Izzy Peterson set new records again with a strong performance on Saturday. After qualifying for the finals in the 60m, Peterson placed third in the finals while posting a time of 7.52 seconds, .05 faster than last week. She then won the 200m later in the day with a time of 24.25 seconds, .08 faster than her previous record.
Junior
Hailey Campbell won the high jump on a jump off by reaching a season-best mark of 1.62m.
On Friday night, sophomore
Josephine Yurs won the 500m race by running a time of 1:22.43. In the weight throw, senior
Samantha Klann placed second with a mark of 15.90m, while junior
Laura Weaver took fifth with a toss of 15.05m.
The quartet of
Leah Digmann,
Sarah Knaack,
Kendra Downing, and
Cecilia Skalsky took fifth in the 4000m DRM behind a time of 12:51.86.
Senior
Avery Brown finished third in the 5000m run on Saturday evening, posting a time of 18:52.12 in the process. Freshman
Alexa Leonard (19:15.61) and sophomore
Caitlin Wirth (19:34.17) placed fourth and sixth, respectively, in the same event.
