STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams began the 2026 indoor season on Saturday afternoon at the WIAC Triangular hosted by UW-Stevens Point. Among the highlights was senior
Izzy Peterson, who broke a pair of her own school records in the 60m and 200m.
Men's Highlights
Junior
Andrew Zimmerman had a strong showing in the 600m, posting a personal best of 1:21.60 to win the event. That time currently ranks inside the top 10 in DIII.
UW-Platteville was well represented in the mile, with senior
Caden Schneider's time of 4:18.30 leading to a first-place finish. Junior
Zachary Sporaa was second with a PR of 4:18.60, while senior
Joshua Stone claimed fourth place in 4:20.49.
Junior
Nolan Marx and sophomore
Kadyn Dixon each set new personal-best times in the 60m prelims. Marx claimed the top spot in the prelims with a time of 6.91 seconds, while Dixon ran 7.00 and later was the runner-up in the finals at 7.03.
A pair of freshmen paced the Pioneers in the 200m, with both placing inside the top four.
Mason Augustynowicz took third in 22.87 seconds, while
Caleb Kitelinger was right behind for fourth in 22.94 seconds.
In the 400m, sophomore
Owen Wise finished second with a time of 51.68 seconds. Sophomore
Callahan Wrasman was UW-Platteville's top finisher in the 60m hurdles, taking third overall in 8.63 seconds.
Freshman
Braedon Shaner began his collegiate career on a high note, placing second in the pole vault at 4.90m. Freshman
Owen Orioles took third in the same event at 4.60m.
Junior
Colby Stotler placed third in the shot put with a toss of 15.30m. Sophomore
Daniel Wenger earned a fourth-place finish in the event at 15.07m.
Women's Highlights
Senior
Izzy Peterson broke a pair of school records in the meet, crushing her previous program-best marks in the 60m and 200m. Peterson initially broke her 60m record in the prelims with a time of 7.60 seconds, then broke it again in the finals with a first-place time of 7.57 seconds. That time currently sits tied for second best in DIII. Peterson then broke her 200m time by over half a second with her first-place mark of 24.33 seconds. Her time in that event is currently the fastest mark in DIII.
Sophomore
Haley Stannard also set a new PR in the 60m, placing third with a time of 8.08 seconds. She would also set a personal-best in the 200m with her fifth-place finish in 26.80 seconds. Junior
Elianna Dalamangas joined Peterson and Stannard in the top five finishers in the 200m with her fourth-place time of 26.76 seconds.
Freshman
Sarah Knaack began her collegiate career with a third-place finish in the 600m. She posted a time of 1:42.67.
In the field events, junior
Hailey Campbell finished first in the high jump by reaching 1.58m. Junior
Evelyn Troxel was the winner in the pole vault by posting a mark of 3.40m. Senior
Emma Egnoski set a new PR in the pole vault and finished fourth at 3.25m.
Sophomore
Skyler McIlvried claimed a fourth-place spot in the long jump with a leap of 5.24m. Dalamangas was one of three Pioneers to finish inside the top five in the triple jump, as her mark of 11.04m was good for second. Freshmen
Briana Bain (10.36m) and
Layla Slife (10.35m) took fourth and fifth, respectively.
Freshman
Paige Kurlinski was the team's top finisher in the shot put, as her throw of 11.75m was good for third. In the weight throw, senior
Laura Weaver took third (16.11m) while senior
Samantha Klann (15.54m) was fourth.
Up Next
The Pioneers will travel to the Mark Schuck Open hosted by Minnesota State next Friday and Saturday. Friday's events consist of several pentathlon and heptathlon events in addition to the men's pole vault and distance running events. The remainder of the events will take place on Saturday.
