PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team (4-1-2) scored three second-half goals, including two in the final four minutes, to complete the comeback in a 3-1 win over Dubuque (0-5-2) on Tuesday evening inside Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
After a scoreless first half with limited scoring opportunities, the Spartans broke through with a goal off the counter in the 49th minute. The Pioneers turned up the attack following the goal and tallied the equalizer in the 72nd minute on a penalty kick by senior
Danny Gutzwiller. The goal was Gutzwiller's third of the season.
UW-Platteville continued to press the attack over the final 18 minutes, and the go-ahead goal was scored in the 87th minute after a Pioneers cross redirected off a Spartans defender into the net for an own goal. Senior
Ethan Dietrich added an insurance goal in the 90th minute on a free kick from just outside the box for his third on the year.
The Pioneers outshot the Spartans 19-2, including 15-1 across the second half. UW-Platteville finished with nine shots on goal, with Gutzwiller's two pacing the team. Dubuque attempted just one shot on goal, but converted upon the lone scoring chance.

Seth Aiken picked up the win in net, his fourth of the year.
