Men's Soccer Prospective Student-Athletes

SUBMIT_YOUR_INFO

UW-Platteville is a Wisconsin Public school looking for student-athletes who are serious about their academics and have the mindset to handle the high expectations of our program. The foundation of our men's soccer program is set upon the following:

Family – Everything we do will be family oriented. We are all in this together and we must develop, maintain, and strengthen our bond. We always must look out for each other.

Teamwork – We will win, lose, and draw games as a TEAM. We will train as a TEAM, and we will compete as a TEAM. We must utilize each other’s strengths and rely on each other on and off the field to be successful.

Competition – Everything we do will be a competition. Our training environment will be competitive, and we will keep score in all activities. We must fight and earn everything!

Discipline – All players must be disciplined mentally, physically, and tactically. Our training sessions and film sessions will be tailored to ensure each player is prepared and disciplined in their role. We must be mentally tough to ensure we are disciplined in all facets of the game.

Relentless – We must always have a relentless mindset, work ethic, and attitude. We must push each other to work hard and grind in all facets of the program. Being relentless will decide the outcome of our season.

A HIGH LEVEL OF PLAY
In addition, we are looking for players who have a high level of technical, tactical, and athletic ability. We often attract players who choose UW-Platteville over a mid-major DI school because of the environment, culture, and positive team chemistry found in our program.

POSITIONAL NEEDS
We look to bring in top players no matter the position. We look for versatility rather than positionally.

THE RECRUITING PROCESS
The team is chosen primarily through the recruiting process. Therefore, it is important for interested high school student-athletes to understand both the process and the timing. The following are some steps you can take to help in the recruiting process:

  1. Contact Us: Fill out our Online Recruit Form so we will have your information. Then follow up with a personal e-mail to Head Coach Jesse Tinney at tinneyje@uwplatt.edu
  2. Send Us Highlights: Although we don't typically offer spots based on video alone, it can sometimes be a good starting place for the recruiting process.
  3. Attend Our ID Clinic: The Men's Soccer ID Camp is a helpful part of our initial identification process in our recruiting timeline. This provides an opportunity for high school players to train at a high level, be seen by the UW-Platteville staff, and get a feel for the culture of the program. The ID Camp has become the most important part of our recruiting process as we make many of our roster decisions based on the evaluation from this camp.
  4. Send Us Game Schedules: If you will be attending one of the tournaments or showcases on the right hand side, then send us your game times, field locations, opponent, and jersey number and jersey color.
  5. Visit Campus: You can get a campus tour, meet with Admissions, and see the campus for yourself. Register (https://www.uwplatt.edu/visit) today!
  6. Come to a Game: It is of great benefit for you to see us play and get a firsthand look at the level of play, the team's style, and the atmosphere surrounding a gameday.

For the right student-athlete, we believe that UW-Platteville has the perfect blend of academic pathways for careers after college partnered with an elite athletic experience. We as a Coaching staff fully intend to prepare you for LIFE! We want to develop student-athletes in all aspects of life and allow you to play to the standard in our program!
