Pioneers Earn Scoreless Draw With Vikings

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team (6-3-5) battled North Park (8-5-1) to a scoreless draw on Wednesday night inside Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

Both teams saw limited scoring opportunities throughout the opening half, and the Pioneers entered the break with a 5-4 advantage in shots. Each team recorded one shot on goal across the first 45 minutes, with senior goalkeeper Seth Aiken collecting the Vikings lone attempt on target.

That trend continued in the second half, as UW-Platteville finished with a 5-1 lead in shots. Aiken produced one save in the second half to secure the clean sheet and record his seventh shutout on the season. The Pioneers had a couple scoring opportunities late in the contest, but a shot on target from senior Sebastian Carranza was saved and the game reached full time at 0-0.

Carranza paced the team with four shots and one shot on goal, while freshman Liam Holtzen attempted the Pioneers other shot on frame. Several other players, including seniors Danny Gutzwiller and Ethan Dietrich, had one shot for UW-Platteville.

The Pioneers will return to conference action at home on Saturday at 1 p.m. against UW-Stout. The team will also recognize the 2025 Senior Class prior to the contest.
