BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team was upended by Benedictine, 2-0, on Sunday at Illinois Wesleyan.
The Pioneers had several scoring opportunities with 15 shots but only one was on goal.
UW-Platteville's defense held off the Eagle's attack in the first half for a scoreless opening period.
A cross by BU's Bobby Kostadinov set up a goal for Nick Kapetanos in the 61st-minute. Kapetanos closed the door on the Pioneers, scoring his second goal of the game with less than three minutes left to play, 2-0.
The Pioneers return to the pitch on Wednesday at the Dubuque Soccer Complex against Luther at 5 p.m.
