Carleton College handed UW-Platteville a 2-0 men's soccer
setback Sunday on a drizzly day in Pioneer Stadium.
Wes Elfman drilled home a 15-yard shot at the 17:48 mark, and
Tim Wills made the game-clinching goal at 88:23 for the Knights,
who improved to 3-2-1.
The Pioneers spent much of the second half in front of the
Knights' goal, but could not get off shots on goal on set plays.
UW-Platteville had six second-period corner-kick opportunities and
several close kicks after fouls but could not land the big
blow.
The Pioneers take a 3-4-1 record into Wednesday's home 7 p.m.
match against M.S.O.E.
