PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team (3-2-3) scored twice in the final 15 minutes to pull off a 3-2 comeback win over Simpson (3-3-2) on Wednesday evening inside Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Storm held a 1-0 lead at the break after scoring the lone goal of the first half in the 35th minute. UW-Platteville answered just after halftime, as senior
Jess Morawski scored her second goal of the season in the 48th minute. Sophomore

Alyssa Jarock picked up assists on the score.
Simpson regained the lead two minutes later, forcing the Pioneers into a deficit once again. But UW-Platteville would find the equalizer for a second time, this time from senior
Elise Kukuck on a free kick from nearly midfield. Kukuck's second goal of the season came in the 77th minute.
Freshman
Elisabeth Holmes put the home team ahead for the first time in the contest with her game-winning goal in the 81st minute. Holmes gathered a loose ball after a Pioneers corner kick and found the back of the net for her second goal this year.
The Pioneers defense held Simpson without a shot attempt across the final nine minutes to secure the 3-2 win.
Total shots for the match favored UW-Platteville 18-11, including 11-8 in shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper
Marguerite Mueller came away with six saves, a new season-high, while playing all 90 minutes in net.
Morawski had a team-high four shots, and matched senior
Margaret Slove for the team lead in shots on goal with two. Eleven different players had at least one shot for the Pioneers.
UW-Platteville travels to Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
