PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team (2-1-1) put together a dominant effort on Thursday night in a 4-0 shutout of Coe (2-3-0) inside Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Pioneers offense put pressure on the Kohawks early and often with nine shot attempts across the first ten minutes of the contest. Junior
Westley Hankes finally broke through for UW-Platteville in the 14th minute with his third goal of the season after receiving a pass from junior
Aiden Hatleberg and beating the keeper with a right-footed shot.
The lead increased to 3-0 by halftime, as UW-Platteville scored a pair of goals in rapid succession in the 31st and 34th minutes. Sophomore
Roberto Salinas scored the first after settling a rebound and firing a shot, and senior
Zac Monnett netted the second after a long pass from senior
Brady Harwood allowed him to have a good look at goal. The goals were the first of the season for both Salinas and Monnett.

Alex Miczek concluded the scoring in the 82nd minute, with Hankes getting credit for the assist following a long throw in.
In total, the Pioneers outshot the Kohawks 38-2, including 13-1 in shots on target. UW-Platteville also led 14-0 in corner kick opportunities.
Fourteen different players attempted at least one shot, with sophomore
Caden Wits pacing the team with six, three of which were on frame. Hatleberg had five shots, while freshman
Bryker Langfald had four off the bench.

Connor Waite and junior
Theodore Utz combined for the shutout in goal, the team's first on the season. Utz made the lone save in the game late in the second half.
The Pioneers will have nearly a week off before playing at Wartburg next Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
