PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville baseball and softball teams enter the final week of regular season action, while the track and field team heads to UW-La Crosse for the WIAC Outdoor Championships this weekend.
Softball Wraps Up Regular Season at Home
The Pioneers softball team enters the week second in the WIAC standings and wraps up conference play with home doubleheaders against UW-Whitewater on Wednesday and UW-Oshkosh on Saturday.
The Warhawks have won four straight games to improve to 22-12 overall and 5-5 in the WIAC. Offensively, Bella Eggert is second in the conference with 49 hits, while Josie Hammen's 83.0 innings pitched ranks third.
The Titans are atop the standings with an 8-1 conference record and 27-5-1 mark overall on the season. Behind Kiran Sanford (16-1, 1.06 ERA) and Grace Nardi (8-1, 1.89 ERA), UW-Oshkosh is the top pitching team in the WIAC with a team ERA of just 1.59.
Baseball Heads to UW-Stevens Point for WIAC Finale
After splitting with UW-Eau Claire this past weekend, the Pioneers baseball team travels to UW-Stevens Point for a four-game series this Friday and Saturday.
The Pointers are tied with UW-Platteville for sixth in the WIAC standings, with both teams looking to find a way into the upcoming conference tournament. Tommy Drohner is hitting a conference-leading .454 on the season, while Kamden Oliver has hit nine home runs and driven in 47 runs, both top three marks in the WIAC.
Track and Field Competes at WIAC Outdoor Championships
The Pioneers track and field teams travel to UW-La Crosse this Friday and Saturday for the WIAC Outdoor Championships presented by Culver's. Events begin at 1 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
