PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville athletic department announced Thursday it will induct four individuals into the Athletic Hall of Fame. The next class, which includes four former student-athletes, will be inducted on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
The four inductees are:
Jesse Milks, '10, Wrestling
Jessica (Scott) Sigl, '09, Track and Field/Cross Country
Tyler Sigl, '09, Track and Field/Cross Country
Marcia Taddy, '09, Track and Field/Cross Country
Jesse Milks - Wrestling
Milks was a three-time All-American and four-time National Qualifier at 157 pounds, having wrestled for the Pioneers from 2006-10. Across his four-year career, Milks boasted a record of 101-22, with 26 of those wins coming via pin fall. The four-time All-Region member started his career by going 26-9 as a freshman and placed runner-up in his weight class at the WIAC Championships. He followed that by going 32-8 his sophomore season and claimed his first of three WIAC titles at 157 pounds. Milks went a combined 43-5 across his junior and senior years, won two more WIAC titles, and finished as high as fourth at the NCAA Division III Championships. Following his senior season, Milks was named the 2010 UW-Platteville Male Athlete of the Year.
Jessica (Scott) Sigl – Track and Field/Cross Country
Jessica (Scott) Sigl had a very successful track and field and cross country career at UW-Platteville, finishing as a nine-time All-American from 2005-09. One of just two Pioneers female athletes to win an individual track (running) championship at the NCAA Division III national meet, Sigl won a pair of indoor national titles in the distance medley relay in 2007 and the 800-meter run in 2008. Sigl still holds four school records in the 4x400-meter relay and DMR in indoor track, and 3000-meter steeplechase and 4x800-meter relay in outdoor. The 13-time All-Conference honoree won five WIAC Track and Field Championships in her career and collected cross country All-Region recognition three times. Her 12th-place finish at the 2008 NCAA Division III cross country championships in 2008 is the second-highest finish ever for a Pioneer female runner. Sigl was named UW-Platteville Female Athlete of the Year in both 2008 and 2009 and earned several academic honors throughout her career. Those included the WIAC Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete award in 2008 and 2009, a pair of CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team awards, and the UW-Platteville Pioneers Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (PSAAC) Inspiration Award in 2006.
Tyler Sigl – Track and Field/Cross Country
Tyler Sigl is one of only five male UW-Platteville athletes to be honored as an NCAA Division III Athlete of the Year, which he did in 2007 by winning the national cross country meet. He was an All-American 13 times, tied for the most among UW-Platteville male athletes, and earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Athlete of the Year four times. Sigl competed in track and field and cross country from 2004-08 at UW-Platteville and was an NCAA Division III Track and Field Champion three times throughout his career: indoor DMR champion in 2008 and outdoor 10,000-meter run champion in both 2007 and 2008. The three-time UW-Platteville Male Athlete of the Year ('06, '07, and '08) set 11 school records, including eight indoor track and field records and three outdoor. Sigl was named to the WIAC Centennial Celebration in both track and field and cross country and was also inducted into the Roy Griak Hall of Fame in 2016 after winning three individual cross country titles at the invite, one of the most competitive meets in the Midwest. He collected 11 WIAC Championships and was the 2007 WIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships Performer of the Meet.
Marcia Taddy – Track and Field/Cross Country
Taddy is one of the most decorated athletes in UW-Platteville track and field and cross country history, having competed in the two sports from 2004-08. She is a two-time USTFCCCA National Track Athlete of the Year, winning the indoor and outdoor honor in 2007. The only UW-Platteville female athlete from any sport to be named National Player of the Year, Taddy is an eight-time track and field NCAA Division III champion, the most of any Pioneer athlete. In 2007, she won the indoor national titles in the 800-meter run, mile run, and distance medley relay. Taddy is a 15-time track and field All-American, a 19-time conference champion, and five-time conference track performer of the meet. She still owns 10 school records and four conference championship marks. In cross country, Taddy collected a pair of All-America honors, finishing 13th at the national championship in 2004, and 17th in 2006. In 2012, Taddy was selected to the WIAC Women's Track & Field All-Time Team in conjunction with the conference's Centennial Celebration. She was inducted into the Wisconsin Track Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2013 and the USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Track & Field Athlete Hall of Fame in 2022 and will be join the WIAC Hall of Fame following the induction ceremony in July.
The UW-Platteville Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1972 by the Alumni Association to honor standout student-athletes, coaches, and contributors. To be nominated for consideration into the Hall of Fame, individuals must meet at least one of the following criteria: documented outstanding performance in intercollegiate athletics while a student at UW-Platteville with graduation date 15 or more years before the current year, documented outstanding past or current coaching performance at UW-Platteville, or contributed to UW-Platteville intercollegiate athletics through service or as a team.
