PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - This week, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams are getting closer to Nationals as they head to Augustana and UW-La Crosse for their final competitions of the regular season.
Last week, the Pioneer baseball and softball teams wrapped up their seasons. The UW-Platteville baseball team finished their season 21-19, securing their last win in a 12-8 victory over Edgewood on Monday. The UW-Pioneer softball team ended their 24-15 season with a run at the WIAC Tournament. The Pioneers secured an 8-7 win in a battle over UW-Whitewater which sent them to their second consecutive WIAC championship game, falling to UW-Stevens Point 5-2.
Track and Field heads to Last Chance Qualifiers
The Pioneer track and field teams will be heading to the Augustana Last Chance Qualifier to compete on Wednesday and Thursday while another group of Pioneers will take on the Last Chance Qualifier over in La Crosse on Thursday. With NCAA Outdoor Nationals creeping up next weekend in La Crosse, the UW-Platteville track and field teams will be using this week to hopefully lock in a few more marks for national qualification.
