MENOMONIE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team (6-3-2, 0-0-1) opened the conference portion of the schedule Saturday with a 1-1 draw at UW-Stout (6-4-2, 0-0-1).
The Pioneers took an early 1-0 lead in the 13
th minute when juniors
Sarah Liljestrand and
Jess Morawski connected for Morawski's second goal of the season.
UW-Platteville held on to the lead until Stout's Hannah Hagman scored the tying goal in the 73
rd minute.
Morawski finished with a game-high four shots, placing all on goal. UW-Stout held a narrow edge in shots 14-13, but the Pioneers put nine on frame compared to the Blue Devils' six shots on goal.
Junior Marguerite Muller finished the day with five saves.
UW-Platteville will return to action on Wednesday, October 8
th when they host UW-Whitewater at 7 p.m.
