STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team (8-4-4, 2-1-3) played to a 1-1 draw Saturday afternoon at UW-Stevens Point (6-4-8, 1-1-4) at the Point Soccer Bowl.
The Pioneers struck first and quickly in the 15
th minute with a goal by freshman
Raven Rogers, assisted by senior
Izzy Streeter. It wasn't until the 63
rd minute when the home team tied it up with a goal on a penalty kick by Sofia Jimenez. The Pointers rattled off 10 shots in the second half alone, but junior goal keeper
Marguerite Mueller tallied all of her four saves in the game during the final 45 minutes.
Overall, UW-Stevens Point outshot the Pioneers 13-8, but held just a slim 5-4 edge in shots on frame.
UW-Platteville will return home on Wednesday, Oct. 29 for a non-conference game at 6 p.m. against No. 23 Carleton.
