PLATTEVILLE, WIS. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team (6-3-1) used a second half goal to take a 1-0 win over University of Dubuque (3-1-5) Wednesday night in Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

Sarah Liljestrand scored the lone goal of the night in the 63
rd minute. With an assist from sophomore
Angelina Labrague, Liljestrand floated the shot over the keeper's head for the go-ahead goal.

Jess Morawski paced the Pioneers with two shots on the night, with both on goal.
Dubuque held a strong 18-7 advantage in shots, but just 6-5 edge in on goal. The Spartans also held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The victory marks the Pioneers' fourth shutout of the season and the Spartans first loss. Junior
Marguerite Mueller collected her first clean sheet of the season and tallied six saves.
UW-Platteville will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 4 when the team kicks off conference play at UW-Stout. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
