Pioneers drop one to Firebirds

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team suffered its first loss since the opening week of the season to Carthage College on Sunday afternoon. The Firebirds' had the lone goal of the game while playing in a frigid and rainy Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

The loss ends UW-Platteville program record setting 14-game unbeaten streak and brings the Pioneers to 12-3-2 on the season while Carthage improves to 11-5-2.

Aidan Crowder from Trevor Molitor and Mickey Reilley fired off the lone goal of the game in the 25th minute of competition.

Over the course of the day, UW-Platteville held a 12-9 advantage on shots with six on frame for the Pioneers and four for the Firebirds. UW-Platteville also held a 7-4 advantage on corner kicks.

The Pioneers will return to action and Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 27 when UW-Whitewater rolls into town at 7 p.m.
