MEQUON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (2-0) held on for its first road win of the season, 75-68, at Concordia University Wisconsin (0-1) Tuesday night. After leading by 20 points earlier in the game, the Pioneers held off the Falcons to the very end as CUW trailed by just one point with 00:47 to go in the game. Senior guard Morgan Horstman hit double digits in the first quarter and finished the night with 26 points. 

First half

• The Pioneers outshot the Falcons 23-3 in the first quarter and shot 62.5% (10-of-16) from the field and went 3-for-3 from the three-point line.
• CUW did not find the scoreboard until 5:17 left in the first quarter.
• A cold second quarter for UW-Platteville allowed CUW to narrow the Pioneers' lead to 31-20 going into the second half.
• The Pioneers shot 54.4% (13-of-24) from the field in the first half. 

Second half

• Both teams returned after the half for an electric third quarter where the teams dished out 53 points and the Pioneers held a slight 27-26 advantage.
• UW-Platteville shot 76.9% (10-of-13) from the floor in the third quarter while the Falcons shot 62.5% (10-of-16).
• CUW narrowed the Pioneers' lead to 66-65 with 1:31 remaining in the game, but a steal by senior Rachel Emendorfer at 1:15 returned possession to the Pioneers. A pair of successful free throws from senior Maddy Williams followed by a two more by Horstman strengthened the lead to 70-65 with 00:31 left.
• The Pioneers shot just 33.3% (4-of-12) from the field in the fourth quarter, but added 9-of-14 from the free throw line.  

Notables 

• UW-Platteville improved to 2-0 on the season.
• The Falcons fell to 0-1 after their season opener.
• The Pioneers tallied 14 points off 16 turnovers.
• UW-Platteville never trailed in the game and has yet to trail a team this season. 
• Horstman led the team scoring with 26 points and tallied a team high seven rebounds 
• Junior guard Maiah Domask posted 16 points, three rebounds, and five assists.
• Williams also hit double digits with 10 points and pulled down four rebounds. 
• UW-Platteville finished 55.1% (27-of-49) from the field including 50% (4-of-8) from beyond the arc and 34 points in the paint.
• The Pioneers finished 60.7% (17-of-28) from the free throw line while the Falcons were 84.2% (16-of-19).
