ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — UW-Platteville's men's soccer team downed the Bethel Royals 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Ona Orth Athletic Complex.
A set of quick fire goals late in the first period would set the Pioneers ahead leading into the half. The Pioneers were able to defend the 2-0 lead all through the second period until the 90 minute mark.
Comprising the two-goal frenzy was Nick Hoklas from Dominic Taldone in the 34th minute and Teon Fountain from Boston Riley two minutes later to set the Pioneers ahead 2-0.
In all, the Pioneers outshot the Royals 21-11 with ten on frame. UW-Platteville also held the advantage in corner kicks with 6-3.
With Saturday's victory, the Pioneers advance to 5-0-1 overall. The Pioneers will return to action on the road Sunday at Minnesota Morris with game time set for 2 p.m.
