The University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team evened its record at 1-1 with a 1-0 win over host Ripon College on Saturday afternoon.

The Pioneers (1-1) outshot their opponents for a second-straight contest and broke open a scoreless time in the 13th minute when Brandon Chimel found the back of the net. UW-Platteville managed to outshoot Ripon by a 9 to 1 advantage in the first 45 minutes. Pioneers' goalkeeper Jared Kuehl picked up three saves for the shutout.

Ripon (0-2) was held to just three shots compared to 13 by the Pioneers, including four by Chimel and teammate Richard Rowell to lead the aggressive attack.

UW-Platteville will host Clarke at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7th in the home opener at Pioneer Stadium.
