Brandon Chmiel scored twice and assisted on another and Mbodje Sarr scored twice to lead the UW-Platteville men's soccer team to a 10-0 rout of Finlandia on Saturday night at the Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

The Pioneers (5-4-1, 1-1 WIAC) scored three times in the first 10 minutes in the win. Chmiel scored in the 2nd and 5th minute on break-away goals as he maneuvered ahead of the Finlandia defense. He was involved in the third goal of the contest when Scott Koenig found the back of the net in the 9th minute.

Finlandia (1-4, 0-2 WIAC) was held without a shot and goalkeeper Miguel Gamez made three saves in the loss.

Pioneer goalkeeper Ian Christensen earned his first shutout of the season in the contest. Later in the half, with a 3-0 lead, the Pioneers scored four more times to take a 7-0 lead into the intermission. IN the second half, UW-Platteville added to its lead when Matthew Hubbard and Ryan Olles each converted on a penalty kick and Brian Crupi scored in the 87th minute for the final margin.

The Pioneers have a quick turnaround as they will host UW-Superior on Sunday, Sept. 25th at 2 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
