Visiting No. 23 Augsburg scored twice in the second half and once in the first half en route to a 3-0 win over the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's soccer team on Sunday.
Augsburg (8-1-1), who is ranked No. 23 in the latest D3soccer.com poll, got on the board in the seventh minute when Mohammed Sankoh fired a shot to the bottom right corner for the early goal.
UW-Platteville (5-7-1) sought to equalize throughout the remainder of the first half with five shots, including three on goal. In the 17th minute, the Pioneers' Mike Presser went up for a header that hit the cross bar and teammate Brandon Chmiel led the attack with three shots.
The Auggies came back with a goal in the 54th minute on a free kick and in the 79th minute when they capitalized on a punt by goalkeeper Will Morlock to set up the final goal for the final margin.
UW-Platteville goalkeeper Jared Kuehl made seven saves and Morlock made three saves for his 11th career shutout.
The Pioneers are back in action on Wednesday night for US Youth Soccer Night when they host Wartburg at 7 p.m. Following the contest, there will be free autographs from the Pioneers and free root beer floats.
