Pioneers Place Sixth At St. Olaf Invite

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville cross country team put together another strong week, placing sixth out of 18 at the St. Olaf Invitational in Northfield, Minnesota on Saturday.

The Pioneers got a preview of the NCAA North Regional course, which will take place on November 14 at St. Olaf. UW-Platteville finished with 183 points at the invite, with St. Olaf (47 points) and UW-Eau Claire (54) finishing atop the standings.

Sophomore Julianna Moran was the team's top finisher in the 6k race, running a personal best time of 23:42.3 to place 21st overall out of 248 competitors. Finishing just seconds behind was sophomore Cecilia Skalsky, who posted a time of 23:45.0 to take 23rd overall.

Senior Megan Hageman and sophomore Alexa Leonard were the next two scorers, finishing back-to-back in 57th and 58th. Hageman ran 24.33.3, while Leonard was close after at 24:36.4.

Freshman Tori Browning was UW-Platteville's final scorer, taking 86th overall with a time of 25:11.6. Rounding out the top seven were senior Kendra Downing (25:17.9) and sophomore Hailey Helms (25:23.0) who finished 93rd and 98th, respectively.

The Pioneers return to Northfield, Minnesota in two weeks for the Running of the Cows meet hosted by Carleton College.
