PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – In a battle of the last remaining teams without a conference loss, the No. 19 University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team (13-2, 3-1) dropped a defensive contest to No. 3 UW-Oshkosh, 56-44, on Bo Ryan Court.

Ella Mackiewicz piloted the Pioneers' charge, posting a game-high 23 points, including three of the team's five made three-pointers in the game.
On the glass, UW-Platteville held a slim 40-38 advantage on rebounds, with senior
Ashley Weir pulling down eight.
The two defenses shut down each other at the start, with a combined 16 points being scored in the first quarter. The Titans continued their three-possession lead into the second quarter until a 9-2 run cut the Pioneers deficit to 21-19 at halftime.

Madalyn Reichmann kicked off the second half with a three-pointer, giving UW-Platteville its only lead of the night, but UW-Oshkosh chipped away until it reached its first double-digit lead of the night, 38-28, with two minutes to go in the third quarter. The Titans build their advantage up to 17 points with 7:22 to go and maintained a three-possession game up until the end.
UW-Platteville shot 23.7 percent (14-of-59) from the floor and 26.3 percent (5-of-19) from three-point range. The Pioneers finished shooting 78.6 percent (11-of-14) from the free throw line.
The Titans finished at 36.4 percent (20-of-55) from the field and 26
.3 percent (5-of-19) from deep. UW-Oshkosh went 11-of-17 (64.7 percent) from the free throw line.
The Pioneers will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 17 when they travel to UW-Stevens Point for a 3 p.m. game.
