PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Junior punter
Benjamin Younker of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville football team was named to the D3football.com Preseason All-America First Team on Monday afternoon.
Younker, who earned Second Team All-America honors from D3football.com following the 2024 campaign, averaged a WIAC-best 42.9 yards per punt in his first season as the Pioneers punter. Across his 41 punts, Younker totaled 1760 yards, and his long punt of 75 yards is the longest punt in UW-Platteville program history. Eleven of his attempts went for over 50 yards, and he placed 18 punts inside the 20-yard line, the most in the WIAC.
The Genoa, Illinois, native garnered several other postseason accolades a year ago, including D3football.com First Team All-Region and First Team All-WIAC. Younker was also recognized for his work in the classroom, collecting Second Team Academic All-American honors from College Sport Communicators.
