Pioneers Compete at UW-Whitewater Spring Invite

JANESVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team finished seventh of nine teams at UW-Whitewater's Spring Invite, hosted at the Riverside Golf Club. 

The Pioneers shaved two strokes off their team score on Saturday, shooting 736 (369, 367). The host team, UW-Whitewater took the invite with a two-day total of 612 strokes (305, 307). 

Junior Taylor Swalve finished 25th overall and paced the Pioneers with 172 strokes after two rounds of 86. Junior Madison Berg tied for 31st after a strong round on Saturday where she finished with 175 strokes (91, 84). 

Sophomore Gabriella Ziegler  took the 42nd spot, shooting 184 (89, 95). Emma Slattery's weekend was highlight with an eagle on par four hole 18 as the junior finished 54nd and combined rounds of 103 and 102 for 205 strokes. Junior Hannah Tysse rounded out the Pioneers' five and finished one spot behind Slattery with 206 strokes (103, 103). 

UW-Platteville will wrap up its spring portion of the season on Sunday May 4 at UW-Stout's Spring Invite.
