RIVER FALLS, Wis. – A goal in the 18
th minute was all the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team (8-3-2, 2-0-1) needed in a 1-0 win over UW-River Falls on Saturday at Ramer Soccer Stadium.
Junior
Sarah Liljestrand provided the lone goal of the contest, her fifth goal on the season and third game-winner.
The Falcons were unable to find the equalizer in the remainder of the match as junior goalkeeper
Marguerite Mueller made four saves to record the clean sheet. The shutout is her third of the five games played.
UW-River Falls held a 20-13 advantage in shot attempts in the game while posting a 4-3 edge in shots on goal over the Pioneers.
Freshman
Devyn Davis paced UW-Platteville with three shots, including one on goal.
Next up, the Pioneers will return to Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium on Senior Night for a 6 p.m. game on Saturday, October 18 against UW-Oshkosh.
