PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team celebrated senior captain Marty Koenig Tuesday night prior to the annual Throwdown in the Threatre. The event features the mat being rolled out onto the Richard and Helen Brodbeck Concert Hall's stage inside the Center for the Arts.
The Pioneers (1-4, 1-4 WIAC) battled #3 nationally ranked UW-La Crosse (12-2, 5-0 WIAC) in the main event and the Eagles went on to win 49-0.
UW-Platteville will now prepare for the WIAC Championships. The Pioneers will host this year's conference event on Saturday, Feb. 17 in Williams Fieldhouse with the first round of wrestling starting at 9 a.m.
