PELLA, Iowa – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Central College Saturday afternoon. The Dutch (6-2-1) improved its win streak to five while this marks the first loss for the Pioneers (6-2-1) since Sept. 6.
The Dutch scored their first goal in the 20th minute following a corner kick and doubled their lead in the 84th minute off a loose ball.
The Pioneers put three shots on goal in the final ten minutes, but Sheila Horstmann kept the clean slate tallying five saves on the day.
The Dutch held a 14-7 advantage on shots taken and 10-5 edge in shots on target.
Sophomore Lydia Smith led the Pioneers with four shots with three on goal while senior Emma Ball stopped seven shots.
Next up, UW-Platteville will travel to the University of Dubuque for a 7:30 game on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
