Bristol, WI – The University of Wisconsin Platteville women's golf team finished sixth out of fourteen teams at the Firebird Spring Invitational at Bristol Oaks Country Club. The Pioneers had a 36-hole team score of 735 strokes after rounds of 361 and 374.
Leading the way for the Pioneers and placing second overall was senior Markie Ash. Ash fired a 36-hole score of 165 after shooting 83 in round one including back-to-back birdies on the front nine and 82 in round two.
Sophomore Josie Alm shot a 36-hole score of 185 and finished 28th. Freshman Jada Chang finished tied 30th after shooting 189.
Rounding out the Pioneers top five was senior Cortney Olsen shooting 196 and senior Emily Veenhuis finishing with a 199.
Competing as individuals for the Pioneers was freshman Emma Cage who finished two rounds with 208 strokes and Nicole Sedam who shot a 233.
The Pioneers will tee it up next at the Pioneer Invitational at Platteville Country Club on April 23.
