WHITEWATER, WIS - University of Wisconsin-Platteville Women's Basketball fell 55-71 to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Wednesday night.
The Pioneers fell to 8-10 overall, 2-5 WIAC while the Warhawks improved to 11-7 overall, 4-3 WIAC.
After the first quarter, the score was tied 13-13 but the Warhawks pulled away to build a 6-point lead at halftime that extended to an 18-point lead entering the fourth quarter. The Pioneers outscored the Warhawks 22-20 in the fourth but it wasn't enough to close the gap.
Junior Morgan Horstman had 12 of her 14 points in the fourth quarter and added 10 total rebounds to tally a double double. Horstman shot 5-of-8 from the field and 2-of-3 from 3-point range in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Maiah Domask led the team in scoring with 16 points and added seven rebounds.
The Pioneers travel to face UW-Stout on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 3 p.m.
