VERONA, Wis. -- Edgewood College edged visiting UW-Platteville 4-2 Tuesday in the Pioneers' final non-conference game of the year.
Both teams used four pitchers, and with all throwing effectively, the game was a tight pitchers' duel. The game was 1-1 until the fifth, when Josh Moses doubled to left center on a full-count pitch that scored Mitch Marty. The Eagles, however, regained the lead on Jonathan Roehler's two-run double in the bottom of the inning. Edgewood added an insurance run in the eighth and held on for the win.
Edgewood improved to 18-13 overall, while the Pioneers fell to 17-15.
