Jaramillo leads Pioneers past Simpson

INDIANOLA, Iowa — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's' soccer team defeated Simpson College 2-0 Saturday at Buxton Stadium in Indianola, Iowa.  This victory moved the Pioneers to 3-1 on the season.

Yamilex Jaramillo scored both goals in the victory, the first coming 18:47 into the game on an unassisted goal from 20 yards out. UW-Platteville maintained its 1-0 lead into the half. This was all the scoring needed as Pioneers' goalie Mariah Kennedy was able to stop all 9 shots the Simpson Storm took. Jaramillo provided an insurance goal with 21 minutes left in the game, with another unassisted goal, this time from 7 yards out.  This concluded the games scoring, and Platteville won 2-0.

The women's soccer team will next hit the field to play Rockford College on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium at 5 p.m.  Rockford will enter the game at 1-4.
