PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams had a strong showing at the UW-Plattevillle Invitational on Saturday, which was named Meet of the Week by USTFCCCA earlier in the week.
Women's Results
Junior Emily Kjos won the javelin with a throw of 123-01, which was nearly 13 feet further than the second-place finisher
In the long jump, Amber Williams finished fifth with 5.53-meter bound.
In the high jump, Alyssa Iserman, Mark-Katherine Kladar and Caitlin Thomson all tied for sixth with jumps of 1.56 meters (5-01.25).
Jessica Jentz took sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.58 meter (34-08.50).
In the 4x400-meter relay, Lynea Axelson, Kelsey Reed, Stephanie Wyss and Amber Williams finished eighth (4:02.67).
Kiera Depies took 10th in the 1,500-meter run in 18:18.27, while Chelsey Heiden (18:21.52) finished 11th.
The team of Krysta Parson, Reed, Jentz, and Williams placed 10th in the 4x100-meter relay, finishing in 50.36.
Caitlin Hare took 11th in the pole vault with a 3.25-meter clearance (10-08.00).
Men's Results
Junior Dan Poh continued his strong season by winning the javelin with a throw of 189-10. Teammate T.J. Valley finished in second (184-02), while Garrett Riggs (169-01) and Evan Buck (164-07) placed fifth and eighth respectively.
Austin Lloyd took third in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.82 seconds, and Patrick Kessenich took third in the 400-meter hurdles (53.55).
Michael Peterson took fourth in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 14:05.70.
In the 4x400-meter relay, the team of Tim Laursen, Brad Jurewicz, Patrick Kessenich and T.J. Valley finished fourth in 3:22.10.
Matt Brendemihl finished fourth in the triple jump with a bound of 13.67 meters (44-10.25).
Caleb Mertens finished fifth in the 100-meter dash in 10.83 seconds, while Mitchell Dowell finished eighth in 11.07 seconds. Mertens also took seventh in the 200 in 22.15 seconds.
In the pole vault, Garrett Riggs finished fifth (15-04.25) and Matthew Dwyer finished sixth (same clearance, more attempts).
In the 5,000-meter run, Ian LaMere finished sixth in 14.25.42.
Matt Wubben finished the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10.28.78, good for sixth, while Ace McCarty placed sixth in the high jump with a 1.90-meter clearance (6-02.75).
The squad of Logan Hansen, Alexander Niehaus, Mike Hendrickson and Trevor Whitehead took eighth in the 4x100-meter relay (44.03).
Kyle Whaley finished ninth in the discus throw with a mark of 43.65 meters (143-02).
