PLATTEVILLE, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to No. 23 UW-Whitewater on Wednesday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
The Warhawks scored the game's first goal in the 12th-minute when Brianna Reid controlled a loose ball on top of the box and scored to the far post.
The Pioneers found the equalizer in the 51st-minute. Junior Julie Divita managed to find a loose ball in front of the goal from a free kick by senior Lindsey Harms, and flicked the ball into the back of the net.
After UW-Platteville's goal, the Warhawks turned up the offensive pressure and tallied nine shots over the next 15 minutes.
UWW's Nichole Lorenz headed in Sierra High's corner kick in the 75th-minute to give the Warhawks the 2-1 victory.
The Pioneers travel UW-Stevens Point on Saturday.
