Eck leads Women's Soccer past UW-Stout on Senior Day

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Senior Sarah Eck scored two goals for the second consecutive game to lead the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team past UW-Stout, 2-1, on Senior Day at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium on Saturday.

Eck popped the ball over the goalkeepers' head from 20 yards out to put the Pioneers ahead 1-0 in the 34th-minute. Five minutes later, Eck got a great through ball from Katelyn Winther and scored on the one-on-one chance against UW-Stout's goalkeeper, giving the Pioneers a 2-0 lead. The Pioneers out shot the Blue Devils 6-4 in the opening half and took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Stout made it a one goal game when Jessica Goodrich received a great pass from Addy Maher, scoring from the right side 10 yards out. The Pioneers stayed aggressive offensively in the second half, out shooting Stout 7-3 and held on to the 2-1 victory.

The Pioneers (9-8-1, 4-3-1 WIAC) are the fifth-seed in the WIAC Tournament and will travel to fourth-seed UW-Eau Claire on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
