Women's Soccer held to scoreless draw against UW-River Falls

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's soccer team was held to a 0-0 double-overtime draw with UW-River Falls on Saturday at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.

The Pioneers move to 6-6-1 on the year and 2-1-1 in conference play while the Falcons go to 4-7-1 and 1-2-1 in the WIAC.

"We had a tough battle tonight, and we played well but couldn't pull of the win," said head coach Allison Stringer. "We will take a tie over a loss but the team is disappointed in the outcome."

In the final 20 minutes of the game the Pioneers bombarded UWRF's goalkeeper Rebecca Kramer with shots. Kramer ended the day with 11 saves with one of them in the final five minutes of regulation that she pinned against the post. The Pioneers dominated the possession for most of the game and totaled 18 shot to UWRF's four.

The Pioneers' Jade Jandt kept the Falcons scoreless in the first half and freshman Mandy Taylor kept the shutout in tacked in the final 65 minutes.

UW-Platteville takes a break from WIAC play when they host Dubuque for a non-conference game on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
