Pioneers and Ashford Play to 0-0 Tie

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville and Ashford University combined for 27 shots with the Pioneers posting a 17 to 10 advantage failed to produce a goal as the two teams played to a scoreless tie on a chilly Tuesday night at Pioneer Stadium.

UW-Platteville (5-9-1) challenged the Saints defensively throughout the game with a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal in the tie. Despite the advantage, the Pioneers were kept off the scoreboard as Ashford goalkeeper Jerika Castillo made 10 saves in the contest. The Pioneers' Karen Bublitz had six shots - including five on goal - in the contest to lead the attack. UW-Platteville goalkeeper Jade Jandt made five saves for the Pioneers.

Ashford (9-4-2) contained the Pioneer attack throughout the contest for most of the contest. Hollie Babut had a team-best four shots for the Saints in the tie.

The Pioneers will be on the road for its next two games, Oct. 22 vs. UW-Superior and Oct. 23 vs. Finlandia. Both contests will kickoff at noon.
