Karsten Leigvold joined the Pioneers in the fall of 2025 and brought nearly a decade of collegiate coaching experience to the UW-Platteville Baseball program.
In his first season at UW-Platteville, Leigvold served as the Pioneers' hitting and infield coach during one of the most successful seasons in program history. The offense set or matched program records with 49 home runs, 434 hits, 85 doubles, 340 runs scored, and a .490 team slugging percentage. Defensively, the Pioneers posted a school-record .971 fielding percentage while earning the program's highest win total in more than a decade.
Leigvold joined the Pioneer coaching staff after seven seasons at North Arkansas College, where he served in a variety of leadership roles, including assistant coach, recruiting coordinator, and head coach. During his tenure, he helped establish North Arkansas as one of the top NJCAA programs in the region while earning a reputation for player development, recruiting, and fundamentally sound baseball. His recruiting efforts helped more than 60 student-athletes continue their careers at four-year institutions across all levels of collegiate baseball, with several advancing to professional baseball.
During his time at North Arkansas, Leigvold helped guide the program to four consecutive NJCAA District Tournament appearances, while developing three NJCAA All-Americans and coaching teams recognized for their offensive production, defensive consistency, and competitive success.
A graduate of Evangel University, Leigvold earned his bachelor's degree while competing as a collegiate baseball student-athlete. He and his wife, Emily, are the proud parents of their daughter.
