    Assistant Track and Field Coach (Triple Jump & Long Jump)
Lauper joins the Pioneers Track and Field staff and will coach long and triple jump. Lauper obtained his USATF Level 1 certification and intended to start his coaching career after college. After a slight delay, he helped develop the Tri-State Homeschool track and field team in 2021 as an assistant coach focusing on horizontal jumps and sprints. He still coaches for the Tri-State Homeschool team, and one of his long jumpers reached the 2021 AAU National Championships in Houston, Texas.

Lauper received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from UW-Platteville in 1998. During his time at UW-Platteville, Lauper competed in track and field in sprints and horizontal jumps as well as cross country his last two seasons. He was the President of SAE on campus from 1996 to 1998.

Coach Lauper is currently an engineering supervisor at John Deere in Dubuque, Iowa and lives in Stitzer, Wisconsin with his wife Andrea where they raise sheep. Andrea is also a graduate from UW-Platteville (1997) in Agriculture Business and competed in track and field in short and long hurdles and is the hurdles coach for the Tri-state Homeschool track team. He has three daughters, Josie, Adelle and Liezl. Josie will be a sophomore at Patrick Henry college in Purcellville, Virginia this fall. Lauper is also a member of the UW-Platteville Industry advisory board for mechanical and industrial systems engineering, and was chair from 2020 to 2026. He is a member of the Tri-State Homeschool Performing Arts committee.
