Allison Sanyi is set to begin her fourth season as the head women's soccer coach at the Unviersity of Wisconsin-Platteville.
The 2013 Pioneers tallied the third most wins in school history with a 9-9-1 record and made an appearance in the WIAC postseason tournament. Four times the Pioneers earned either offensive or defensive WIAC Player of the Week, which included Sarah Eck claiming a school record three offensive honors. Eck also garnered first team all-WIAC honors and third team National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Women's All-North Region.
In 2012, the Pioneers posted a 6-11 record, winning four of their last six games, and recorded the fifth best goals per game average (1.65) in school history.
In her first season as the head coach, the Pioneers outscored their opponents by a 33 to 27 margin, including an 18 to 11 margin in the first 45 minutes. They began the season with three-straight wins for the first time since 2008.
As an assistant with the women's program in 2010, UW-Platteville posted an 11-9-2 record. The Pioneers were above the .500 mark for the first time in four years and the third time in 13 years. They finished fifth in WIAC play for the highest finish ever and advanced beyond the first round in conference tournament play for the first time in the program’s history. The Pioneers posted first-time ever wins over WIAC member, UW-Oshkosh and local rival, Luther. The 11 victories are the second most wins in program history.
In 2010, the Pioneers posted an average to 2.52 of goals per game for the second best in program history and the third-best in goals-against average of 1.11. UW-Platteville scored a program-best 53 goals and averaged a school record 6.81 points per game.
In 2008, the Pioneers were 9-9-2 overall and 2-6 in WIAC play. It was the first time since 2005 that the Pioneers exceeded one conference win. The Pioneers won their first three games for the first time in school history and posted league wins against UW-Superior and UW-Whitewater. The win against UW-Whitewater was the first time in 13 years for UW-Platteville.
Sanyi joined the Pioneer staff in 2008, assisting in all phases of the program. She became the acting head coach in 2009 while Enzo Fuschino recovered from a heart attack. She helped the women to a 8-10-2 record, highlighted by the first ever win over UW-La Crosse.
Sanyi captained Loras's soccer team for two years, 2006-07. A former Bettendorf (Iowa) High School Female Athlete of the Year, she was a three-time all-state athlete. She was also the assistant varsity and head JV coach at Dubuque Wahlert for three years and was the head coach of the Dubuque Soccer Club from 2005-2008.
Sanyi has been involved in a number of clinics, including one of her own in Bettendorf. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Loras in May, 2008, majoring in exercise science.
