EAU CLAIRE, Wis.—The University of Wisconsin-Platteville softball team lost 7-0 and 10-0 against host UW-Eau Claire on Saturday.
In game one, the Blugolds scored three runs in the first, once in the third, and three runs in the fourth innings. In the nightcap ending in five innings, UW-Eau Claire scored five runs in the first, four runs in the second, and once in the fourth innings Lauren Blasczyk held the Pioneers to two hits in the opener, and Sarah Peka and Cheyenne Johnson combined on a two-hitter in the nightcap.
UW-Eau Claire is now at 27-9 overall and 8-6 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Pioneers, now 11-25 and 4-10, cancelled their scheduled Sunday home doubleheader against Wartburg College because of the weather.
