Nelson and Neumaier Join Pioneers Sports Performance Staff

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville announced Friday two additions to the Pioneers Sports Performance staff, in Eric Nelson and Chase Neumaier. 

Eric NelsonNelson joins the Pioneers staff as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. He comes to UW-Platteville after serving as assistant strength and conditioning coach at Wittenberg University during the 2025-2026 school year and a sports performance graduate assistant during the 2024-2025 school year. Prior to Wittenberg, Nelson worked as a strength and conditioning intern with the UW-Madison football team.

Nelson graduated from Edgewood University in Madison, Wisconsin with a bachelor of science in biology and a minor in nutrition, while also pitching for the Eagles baseball team. 

A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, Nelson is also certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid certification from American Red Cross.

Chase Neumaier Neumaier steps into the 2026 season as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach while he works toward his master's degree in the UW-Platteville Sports Administration graduate program. Neumaier coaches track and field mid-distance, cross country, and women's golf. He first joined the UW-Platteville staff in the fall of 2024 as an intern on the strength and conditioning staff and after graduating from UW-Platteville in 2025 with a degree in Health Promotion, Neumaier interned with the UW-Madison men's and women's hockey and basketball teams. 

Neumaier has worked with division I athletes, professional athletes, and Olympic medalists and is a certified CSCS Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
