PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – For the 25th consecutive year, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers student-athletes received the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) All-Academic Award. The award is presented to member institutions where the 2024-25 academic year grade-point average of the student-athletes is equal to or greater than the GPA of the institution's overall student body.
The Pioneers' 25-year streak is the longest in the conference, and UW-Platteville is the lone WIAC institution to earn the honor each year it has been rewarded. For the 2024-25 school year, UW-Platteville's student-athletes posted a cumulative GPA of 3.334.
The WIAC also honored individual success in the classroom with 350 UW-Platteville student-athletes being named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. To be named to the honor roll a student-athlete must compete in a varsity sport and accumulate a 3.0 or better GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
The 2024-25 academic year also marks just the fourth time in the awards existence where all eight WIAC institutions earned the All-Academic Award.
The 350 Pioneer student-athletes were also named to the university's Gabe Miller Academic Honor Roll, named in memory of the late men's basketball player who passed away just weeks after the Pioneers finished undefeated and winning the 1995 NCAA Division III National Championship.
