OSHKOSH, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams wrapped up competition from the 2025 WIAC Outdoor Championships hosted by UW-Oshkosh on Saturday, with the men's team place fifth out of eight teams, scoring 44 points, while the women took sixth with 32.33 points.
Men's Highlights
One day after setting a new PR in the 800m in the prelims, junior Joshua Stone recorded a new personal-best in the event with a time of 1:53.31. That mark helped him finish as the runner-up in the finals, scoring eight points for the Pioneers.
Sophomore Paul Pfeifer finished third place in the 5000m, crossing the line with a time of 14:38.86.
The 4x400m relay group of Evan Graves, Owen Wise, James Ketterer, and Zach Zenner placed fourth overall while running a time of 3:14.34.
The 4x100m relay team of Kadyn Dixon, Spencer Vanek, Daniel Inyang, and Nolan Marx placed fourth in the event while running a strong time of 41.39 seconds. That time is the sixth-fastest in program history.
In the discus, junior McKade Jelinek took fifth with a best throw of 50.53m on his fourth attempt of the day. Junior Beau Kopp also scored for the Pioneers in the event, placing eighth at 47.58m, which came on his last throw.
Two Pioneers scored in the 1500m, led by junior Elijah Wade's seventh-place time of 3:55.39. Sophomore Spencer Thiry was right behind for eighth in 3:55.74.
In the 400m finals, seniors Zach Zenner and Spencer Vanek finished back-to-back to each earn a spot on the podium. Zenner (48.71 seconds) took seventh with Vanek (49.20) bringing home eighth.
Women's Highlights
Junior Izzy Peterson was the runner-up in the 100m finals while posting an impressive time of 11.89 seconds. That time ties the UW-Platteville school record in the event, which is also held by Gwen Orr from back in 2022. Peterson later set a new Pioneers school record in the 200m with a time of 24.29 seconds to place seconds, which broke the previous record of 24.44 seconds previously held by Orr from 2022.
In the women's 4x100m relay, the quartet of Haley Stannard, Elianna Dalamangas, Madison Ahrens, and Izzy Peterson finished third overall with a time of 46.95 seconds.
Senior Brenna Noon reached a top distance of 13.53m on her second attempt of the day in the shot put, which was good enough for a third-place finish in the event.
The 4x400m relay team of Margaret Rusch, Kayla Lipsey, Lindsey Barnes, and Josephine Yurs placed fifth with a time of 3:59.42.
Sophomore Hailey Campbell tied for eighth-place in the high jump, posting a mark of 1.55m.
