Peterson Wraps Up Outdoor Championships With All-American Honors

GENEVA, Ohio – Junior Izzy Peterson capped off the three-day 2025 NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field teams on Saturday, earning All-American honors in the 200m from the SPIRE Institute Outdoor Track and Field in Geneva, Ohio.

Peterson broke her own school record in the event en route to collecting All-American honors, finishing the 200m race in 24.14 seconds, over a tenth of a second faster than her previous school record of 24.25 seconds. The junior had advanced to Saturday's finals in the event after running a 24.35 in the preliminaries, and she improved upon that time to take seventh overall in the finals.

Peterson becomes the first women's student-athlete in program history to earn outdoor All-American honors in the 200m. She was named an All-American in the 200m during indoor season as well, and she holds both the indoor and outdoor record in the event. Peterson also becomes the Pioneers first women's athlete to secure outdoor All-American recognition in any running event since Deidre Dillman in the 800m in 2012.

After the conclusion of all events, the UW-Platteville men's team finished inside the top-20 teams nationally, finishing tied for 18th overall. The third place finish by junior Caden Schneider in the 3000m steeplechase and the fourth place finish by junior McKade Jelinek in the discus throw placed the men's team fourth best of the WIAC teams.
